I had a solid stay at the hotel, which boasted clean and spacious rooms and a very friendly staff. The location is excellent, with plenty of attractions nearby, but I did find the dining experience a bit chaotic and slow. Overall, it’s a good value for the price, though there are a few areas needing improvement.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable, offering a lovely view of the garden. However, they felt a bit dated and the standard lamp looked dodgy.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and always on hand to help with anything we needed. They were chatty and welcoming, which made the experience delightful.
Location
9.0
The location was very good, with lots of attractions nearby, including a brewery right across the road. It was quite convenient for exploring the area.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a bit disorganized, with slow service and some items like bread and juices not being replenished promptly. The buffet had its moments but could definitely use some improvement.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent, particularly the Back Stage Music Venue, which added a nice touch to the overall experience.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel; while the location was great for exploring and the staff was friendly, the service during my stay was chaotic. The room I stayed in was a little cramped and needed some attention, but it had a comfortable bed. The dining options were okay but didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, it's decent but could use improvements in several areas.

Rooms
6.0
The room was quite small, and although it had a comfortable bed, it was next to the boiler room. I also had to ask for a kettle, which seemed like it hadn’t been used in a while.
Service
5.0
The service was disorganized. I noticed different prices for the same drinks at the bar, and there were numerous issues with orders at meal times. However, the staff that were around were friendly and helpful.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was good for what I needed, being close to Loch Leven and just off the motorway, making it convenient for exploring the local area.
Dining
5.0
Dining was fine once the order was taken, but the food lacked a bit of love. It was okay as a hangover cure but not particularly special.
Facilities
5.0
I didn't find the facilities particularly memorable, and it felt like they could have been better organized.

My stay at the hotel was a mixed bag. The view from my room was lovely, and I appreciated the spacious private bathroom. However, the noise was a significant issue, particularly during the night, and the overall condition of the facilities seemed a bit outdated. For the price of £90, the value felt lacking, especially with some maintenance needs in the hallways.

Rooms
6.0
The room had a great view and a large private bathroom, but it wasn't the most modern and the noise levels were quite disruptive.
Service
9.0
The staff were fantastic—very welcoming and helpful, which really made a difference during my stay.
Location
7.0
The location was convenient for accessing nearby shops and the Martin Barre gig, but my specific room had a view onto a junkyard, which was disappointing.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience left something to be desired; while the Backstage Bar was nice, some food items seemed like they had been sitting out for a while.
Facilities
5.0
The overall facilities seemed to need some refurbishment, with signs of wear throughout the hotel.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The location was fantastic for exploring Scotland, with easy access to many attractions. The rooms were clean and spacious, but the outdated decor and noise levels were a downside. While the breakfast quality was excellent, the dining area was chaotic, which affected the overall experience. The service could use some improvement, as it felt disorganized, but the staff were enthusiastic and made an effort to be friendly.

Rooms

The service was a bit disorganized, and the staff didn’t seem very welcoming at times, but they were enthusiastic and tried to make up for their lack of training.

The location was great, centrally positioned for exploring Scotland, from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. It’s perfect for sightseeing, though there could be more seating available in the common areas.
Dining

The location was decent, but I would consider exploring other options before booking again. However, the dining experience left much to be desired, and the rooms could use some updates. Overall, it was a comfortable stay but not without its drawbacks.

The hotel has a superb location that's perfect for visiting the Lomonds and Loch Leven, which I really appreciated. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making me feel comfortable right away. Unfortunately, the room I stayed in was not very good due to the uncomfortable mattress, which had noticeable lumps. Overall, the pricing seemed reasonable, but the value didn't fully match my expectations given the room quality.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, enjoying the beautiful views of the fountain and pond from my room. The location was ideal, especially for our dog as we were on the ground floor. The service was generally friendly and attentive, but I did experience a mix-up with my drink order. The heating in the room could have been better, so that was a bit of a downside, but overall, it was a nice experience.

Rooms
7.0
The room had a lovely calm view onto the fountain and pond and was perfect for our dog since it was on the ground floor. However, being an old building, the heating was inadequate, making it a bit cold.
Service

The location was perfect for our purposes, being convenient to Edinburgh and the lovely village of Falkland. There was also ample parking available, which was a big plus.
Dining

However, the room needed some serious attention; it was dated and the mattress was uncomfortable. The dining options were also below my expectations, though breakfast had its moments. Overall, I felt like I got decent value for my money due to the location and friendly service, but improvements are definitely needed in some areas.

Rooms

Location
8.0
The hotel's location was a major plus and well-suited for my itinerary. It was in close proximity to local attractions, which was great.
Dining

The dining experience was okay, but I found the food at the Jocks Bar to be quite expensive and not up to standard. Breakfast was better, though we had to wait quite a bit for our tea and coffee.
Facilities

5.2/10

I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The rooms felt very dated and shabby, which was especially upsetting since I booked this as a Christmas gift for my elderly parents. The mattresses need replacing, and the cleanliness was also an issue. On the brighter side, the location is great for exploring the nearby areas, and the staff, while slow, were generally friendly.

Rooms

I had mixed feelings about my stay at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, but there were cleanliness issues that really stood out. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but it felt like there just weren't enough of them to properly manage things. The hotel is conveniently located, but some aspects of the dining experience left me wanting more.
